Assistant Resident Engineer

Job Summary
Manage the administration of NCDOT central let contracts and supervise contract construction work, including establishing engineering controls and inspecting the project. Lead project QA/QC in the assigned region, conduct performance reviews for staff, and maintain client relationships with NCDOT departments, the public, and local government officials. Assist design disciplines with constructability issues and perform related duties as assigned. Requires 4+ years in the CM/CI or engineering field, an associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related curriculum, and ability to work in both office and construction site environments.
Required Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Working knowledge of HiCAMS and SharePlus/SharePoint
- Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle Screening
- Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 4+ years of experience working in the CM/CI or engineering field
- Ability to supervise lower-level employees and provide guidance and mentorship in both highway and bridge construction
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or Construction Management
- Professional Engineering license
- NCDOT experience
- Experience working with local clients
