Assistant Resident Engineer (Infrastructure)

Job Summary
Assist the Resident Engineer in administering day-to-day field engineering activities on an infrastructure project. Perform constructability reviews and observe work progress; maintain first-level quality assurance to ensure installations comply with plans, specifications, and industry standards. Provide technical details to construction personnel, resolve engineering problems within the discipline, and coordinate solutions with design staff. Monitor discipline construction schedules, assist in progress appraisal, and manage material procurement and deliveries to support timely construction. Ensure tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented per procedures; enforce safe work practices according to site safety procedures and industry standards; maintain daily logs for project records and final turnover. Review contractor submissions, supervise site inspection staff, prepare progress reports, and perform other related responsibilities as appropriate. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and at least 10 years of infrastructure experience; strong English communication skills and proficiency with relevant engineering/construction software. Lead coordination with discipline design staff and ensure compliant, quality-driven project execution. This role is located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and is expected to be full-time onsite.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of overall experience in infrastructure, road works, and utilities projects
- Proven track record in supervising all aspects of road and general infrastructure projects
- Proficient in computer applications for data access, record management, report generation, and relevant engineering/construction software
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken, with excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Solid understanding of engineering and construction processes, as well as industry standards and best practices
