Job Summary
Manage day-to-day construction administration for assigned projects by acting as the Construction Manager and reporting directly to the Resident Engineer. Coordinate with JFK Airport Facility, operations personnel, and stakeholders to ensure efficient progress while minimizing impacts to airport operations. Supervise field staff, review contractor submittals, RFIs, and daily inspection reports, and prepare change orders, cost estimates, and monthly progress reports. Advise on contractor disputes and resolve issues through established contractual processes. Maintain accurate project documentation, track classified work items, and identify potential risks. Requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, 10+ years of construction management experience, and valid JFK Airport security clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience managing construction projects of varying size, scope, and complexity, including projects ranging from $500,000 to $5 million or greater and involving multiple crews and shift operations
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain a JFK Airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification
- Training in fall protection
- Training in Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT)
- Training in confined space entry
- Training in permit-required confined space entry
- Ability to support non-standard work hours, including potential night and weekend shifts, and accommodate extended work hours as project needs require
- Proficiency with eBuilder
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong knowledge of construction management practices
- Strong knowledge of contract administration
- Strong knowledge of project documentation
- Strong knowledge of coordination with multiple stakeholders
