Job Summary
Design and execute molecular cloning and protein purification experiments in the Hong Li Lab. Mentor and train research trainees on experimental techniques; participate in writing publications and grant applications. The ideal candidate possesses a B.S. degree (preferably with more than one year of related experience), strong organizational skills, and effective communication abilities. This is a full-time, salaried position at Van Andel Institute with day-one benefits, located in Grand Rapids, MI. Expectation to develop project understanding, lab operations familiarity, and over 3–6 months to take leadership in project coordination and serve as a technical resource for other research staff.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree in a related field
- 1+ year of experience preferred
- Familiar with bacterial and eukaryotic protein expression systems
- Experience in protein purification and molecular cloning
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to mentor/train research trainees
- Ability to contribute to publications and grant applications
