Assistant Recovery Specialist

Job Summary
Engage with individuals receiving mental health services to establish positive relationships in community and living environments. Provide transportation and support for recovery-related trips, appointments, and program events. Deliver peer and recovery supports to a caseload of 5-10 adults, including encouragement, emotional support, and assistance with daily activities. Facilitate individual and group sessions focused on skill-building and coping strategies, while maintaining accurate, confidential documentation of client interactions and progress. Assist clients in navigating community resources and participate in team meetings to coordinate care. Requires a valid driver's license, current defensive driving certification, and experience as a Peer or Direct Support Professional.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant field experience as a Peer Professional/Direct Support Professional
- CRPA/NYCPS – required within 6 months of hire
- Knowledge of recovery-oriented principles and trauma-informed care
- Familiarity with community resources and support services
- Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to a positive team culture
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and database management systems
- Fluency in English (Reading, Writing, Speaking)
- Experience with EHR (Electronic Health Records)
- Must have a valid Driver's License and a driving record that is satisfactory to our insurance carrier
- Must maintain current NYS Defensive Driving certification
- Must be cleared and maintain clearance by applicable regulatory clearances as required
- Legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Role will require regular travel around periodic fieldwork across Westchester
