Assistant Ranch Supervisor

Job Summary
Lead daily ranch operations including feeding, cleaning, enrichment, rehabilitation, training, and animal handling for horses and barn animals. Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and feedback to team members while overseeing facility maintenance and equipment. Serve as the primary point of contact for staff questions, animal-care decisions, and urgent situations, assisting veterinarians with exams and ensuring protocol compliance. Coordinate scheduling, staffing coverage, onboarding, and performance management, while managing adoptions, fosters, and transportation in partnership with other departments. Maintain accurate animal records and support program reporting, training materials, and care standards. Promote a safe work environment by following OSHA requirements and animal-handling practices. Full-time Monday through Friday schedule with potential early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least one year of professional animal-care experience
- At least one year of leadership, supervisory, lead, or team coordination experience
- Experience with horses, livestock, ranch animals, or barn operations
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record

- Ability to make sound decisions and oversee daily operations independently when needed

- Comfort working with employees, volunteers, clients, donors, and community partners
- Working knowledge of trucks, trailers, tractors, and ranch or barn equipment
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and ability to learn Shelter Buddy and other systems
