Assistant Quantity Surveyor - @One Alliance

Assist the commercial team on large-scale Anglian Water @One Alliance projects (£50m+), supporting cost management and commercial delivery from inception through close-out. You will work to manage costs, maximise value, minimise liabilities, and ensure governance and safety standards. Responsibilities include assisting the estimating team to produce robust estimates aligned to scope with risk/opportunity analysis, transferring data to Alliance Procurement systems and cost Base; managing Subcontracts in line with contract requirements; collaborating with procurement, Construction Manager and PIAM to ensure robust cost management and accurate reporting; conducting site visits to validate allowances and outputs, providing robust challenge to achieve outperformance and communicate change control; delivering accurate live forecasting integrated with the programme and cost breakdown structure; monitoring actual costs versus baseline and advising on variance resolutions; preparing cost reports and ensuring timely delivery of GRNs in accordance with client and partner requirements; understanding contractual arrangements and supporting risk mitigation planning; administering the Alliance Contract including early warnings and contractual notices, and keeping relevant stakeholders informed. Desired attributes include a degree in construction/commercial management, professional qualifications (RIC, CIOB, ICE), NEC3 contract knowledge, experience in a complex matrix team, knowledge of construction law, a full UK driving licence, and strong written/verbal communication and organizational/analytical skills.
