Assistant Property Manager

Job Summary
Collect and post rent, fees, and other payments while managing delinquencies and implementing collection procedures. Prepare daily bank deposits, reconcile accounts, and process accounts payable to ensure proper coding and reconciliation. Assist with month-end close-out procedures, general ledger postings, and security deposit accounting using property management software. Support leasing efforts including showing units, processing applications, and executing lease agreements, while promoting resident satisfaction through excellent customer service. Respond promptly to resident complaints, service requests, and inquiries, and coordinate with the maintenance team for timely unit turns. Act as on-site supervisor in the absence of the Property Manager and assist in training and supervising property staff. Maintain open communication with ownership and provide community performance updates as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of experience in multifamily property management
- Strong understanding of lease agreements, rent collection, and lease enforcement procedures
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Property Management software experience is a must
- Comfortable with G/L postings, SODA (Security Deposit Accounting), and financial reconciliations
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Must be customer-service oriented with the ability to interact professionally with residents and vendors
- Valid driver's license
