Assistant Property Manager

Job Summary
Maintain physical and electronic files at a high standard and ensure accurate, timely entries to property management software including rent posting, service requests, applications, and invoicing. Conduct health and safety quality control inspections to detect housing violations, monitor security events and maintenance issues, and document problematic resident behavior. Adhere to Fair Housing, landlord laws, HOME, Section 42 Tax Credit, and HUD Section 8 Program compliance while assisting with site personnel supervision, interviewing, hiring, and training. Distribute notices to residents as required and provide high-level customer service to maintain positive resident relations. Assume duties of the Property Manager during vacancies, absences, or vacations. A valid driver's license and ability to work weekends are required.
Required Qualifications
- Able to work weekends as directed
- Must have a valid Driver's License and meet CCH automobile insurance eligibility
Desired Qualifications
- Two years experience in affordable housing preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a real estate related field strongly preferred
- Knowledge of Section 42 Tax Credit, Section 8 Programs, and Equal Housing Opportunity laws preferred
- Sound critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Consistently superb customer service skills
- excellent interpersonal/assertive communications skills demonstrating a high degree of emotional intelligence
- Knowledge of homeless issues and demonstrated sensitivity to and a desire to work with underserved populations
- Proficient in MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, Office 360, etc
