Job Summary
Assistant Property Manager supports daily operations of a Chelsea, MA affordable-housing community (189 units) by assisting the Property Manager with leasing, financials, service requests, and resident relations. Responsible for monitoring rent collections, posting payments, enforcing policies, processing applications and recertifications, negotiating lease renewals, preparing financial reports, and acting as Property Manager in the Manager’s absence. Requires high school diploma or GED, less than 1 year of relevant experience, LIHTC/HOME program experience, valid driver's license, MS Office proficiency, strong communication and customer-service skills, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, diverse environment. Benefits include comprehensive plans and hybrid schedules where applicable. Schedule typically Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–5:00 PM with Saturdays as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Less than 1 year of relevant work experience
- 1 year of experience administering affordable housing programs, including LIHTC, Tax-Exempt Bond, HOME, HPTF, and other applicable state or local programs
- A current driver's license in good standing
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Superb attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and be trained
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities
