Job Summary
Support the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects through all stages of the project lifecycle by assisting with planning, programme management, reporting, risk management, and project controls. Coordinate with clients, contractors, design teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes while monitoring performance metrics including cost, schedule, and risks. Administer NEC contracts, manage project governance processes, and prepare documentation such as reports, meeting minutes, and progress updates. Champion best practice in health and safety, quality, sustainability, and continuous improvement across major capital investment programmes in the regulated water sector.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in a project support, project coordination, assistant project management or similar role within a consultancy, engineering or infrastructure environment
- An understanding of core project management principles including programme, cost, risk and stakeholder management
- Excellent organisational and communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and confidence when engaging with clients and project teams
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Environmental Science or a related field
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to the water sector, utilities sector or wider infrastructure projects
- Progress towards a recognised project management qualification such as APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards one
- A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in developing a long-term career within the water and infrastructure sector
- A commitment to health, safety, sustainability and continuous professional development
- Experience within a consultancy environment and have worked on water, utilities or environmental projects, even if this experience has been at a junior level
