Job Summary
As a Construction Assistant Project Manager in Plymouth, MN, you will support the construction team by coordinating pre-construction and construction activities across applicable multifamily projects. You will take direction from the Project Manager, communicate expectations to subcontractors and employees regarding schedules, construction methods, company policies, permits, safety, sustainability, and quality standards. You will assist in procurement of materials and equipment, interact with Architects, Structural/Civil Engineers, Landscape and other consultants, and help review progress and cost reports, schedules, and requirements. You will collaborate to maintain project site safety and organization, assist in project estimation and pre-construction activities, coordinate monthly draws with the Accounting team, review and verify payment applications, and support OAC meetings with accurate minutes. You will maintain the Procore project site (submittals, RFIs, change orders, drawings, logs), provide drawing updates, and ensure timely communication to affected teams. Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Office, and scheduling tools is expected, along with the ability to read architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, ownership-minded team environment.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in Construction Management or related field
- High school diploma or GED with 1-3 years of related experience
- 1-3 years of project engineering, project coordination, or management in multifamily construction
- Experience working in residential or commercial construction
- Microsoft Office suite to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
- Microsoft Project scheduling software
- Bluebeam
- Procore construction management software
- Consistently detail oriented with strong organization skills
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP trade drawings
- Ability to anticipate needs of other team members internally and externally
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, understanding that your scheduled workdays may vary according to staffing and project needs
