Assistant Project Manager - Retail & Workplace Projects

Job Summary
Support the delivery of retail, commercial, and corporate workplace fit-out projects from planning through close-out by coordinating design, procurement, construction, and furniture installation activities. Assist Project Managers with scheduling, budgeting, risk registers, and action logs while participating in design reviews and site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety. Build relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors to attend meetings, prepare minutes, and track deliverables, ensuring accurate reporting and timely escalation of issues. Manage procurement activities including tendering, bid evaluations, and contract administration, while tracking expenditures, reviewing invoices, and supporting change orders. Maintain project documentation, dashboards, and punch lists to ensure occupancy readiness and close-out compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or a related field
- Relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- 3-5 years of experience in project coordination, project management, construction administration, or a related role
- Understanding of construction project lifecycles, project controls, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project documentation
- Experience coordinating consultants, contractors, vendors, and multiple stakeholder groups
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and project management software platforms
- Experience using web-based project management and collaboration tools
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting retail, commercial, workplace, corporate interiors, tenant improvement, or fit-out projects
- CAPM, PMP coursework, or progress toward professional project management certification
