Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary

Review project proposals, drawings, and plans to determine timeframes, funding limitations, and staffing requirements. Provide daily, weekly, and monthly schedule support to the project team while developing material take-offs, cost estimates, and procurement schedules. Confers with project staff to outline work plans, assign duties, and coordinate activities with governmental agencies to ensure progress within budget. Modify schedules or plans as required based on status reports and assist the Safety Department in enforcing corporate policies. This role may be assigned its own projects to manage in a learning environment. Requires 2-5 years of related experience, proficiency in MS Office and project management software, and the ability to travel 25-75%.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-5 years related experience or equivalent of education and/or experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook) and knowledge of project management software
  • Satisfactory verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Displays willingness to make decisions and includes the appropriate people within the decision making process
  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals
  • Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Observes safety and security procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions
  • Ability to possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others
  • Undertakes self-development activities and seeks increased responsibilities
  • Looks for ways to continuously improve both personally and professionally
  • Valid Driver's License, ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record, and ability to adhere to the KA Motor Vehicle Policy
  • Travel 25-75%; depending on job
  • Ability to stand and/or sit in a stationary position for extended periods of time; 50%+
  • Navigate between office building floors, and on occasion, attend off-site meetings
  • Lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted

Desired Qualifications

  • Four year degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related degree
  • Knowledge of ViewPoint software
