Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary
Support the Project Manager by soliciting subcontractors and vendors during bidding, preparing agreements and purchase orders, and owning the submittal agreement process. Coordinate the RFI process, manage municipal communications for permits, and complete weekly site reports and routine permit requests. Assist with closeout procedures and ensure warranty documentation is maintained in the database. This role requires frequent travel to job sites in Virginia and South Carolina, with a requirement for two years of construction industry experience or a Construction Management degree.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in the construction industry
- experience in multi-family construction
- 4-Year degree in Construction Management or similar field
- Knowledge of multi-family construction methods and materials
- Knowledge of industry methods for scheduling, bidding, estimating, contracting, cost reporting, safety, and quality
- Ability to understand the technical aspects of construction
- Knowledge of MS Software applications to include MS Office, Excel and Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and individually to solve problems and find appropriate solutions
- Capable of building a positive relationship with all project stakeholders
- frequent travel (2-3 days a week) to job sites in Virginia and South Carolina
