Assistant Project Manager II

Job Summary
Coordinate engineering, estimating, project controls, procurement, and construction activities during project development and execution. Assist the Project Manager in developing initial schedules, conducting financial reviews, and preparing monthly project reports. Support procurement by developing subcontractor scopes and facilitating close-out and warranty administration. Monitor overall design and construction progress while participating in value engineering and safety plan implementation. Provide feedback on technical and commercial deliverables and perform post-construction cost reviews. Act as Project Manager when unavailable. Requires a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of construction experience; travel up to 50%.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Science/Management, Engineering, or equivalent field
- 2+ years of construction project experience
- Experience with engineering, estimating, bidding, preparing, and administering purchase orders and subcontracts
- Experience with scheduling
- Experience with cost control
- Experience with document control
- Self-starter
- Ability to work well independently, as well as part of a team
- Strong problem evaluation/solving skills
- Understanding of the project design process for projects
- Understanding of integrated EPC process
- Understanding of construction means and methods
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with other team members
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Familiarity with estimating, scheduling, and project management software and processes
- Travel: Yes
- Percent of Time: Up to 50%, or as project needs require
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in EPC/design build
- Prior experience in the Power Delivery (substation, transmission & distribution) industry
