Job Summary
Assistant Project Manager responsible for supporting and managing electrical projects from inception to completion, including planning, organizing, and coordinating activities related to design, testing, and commissioning. Collaborates with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards and safety regulations. May serve as subordinate Project Manager to a PM or Sr. PM or operate independently depending on skill level; role is to prepare candidates to fully fulfill the Project Manager position. Key responsibilities span customer service, issue resolution, maintaining client communications, and ensuring project controls, procurement, subcontracts, budgeting, schedule management, and regular site visits to monitor progress and safety. Focus areas include managing financials (CTC), change orders, contract reviews, and coordination across design, engineering, procurement, and field operations to ensure project success.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 years as a Project Engineer or similar work experience in the commercial electrical industry
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and their components
- Strong computer skills and experience with basic computer programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft AX, Microsoft Project, etc.)
- Strong in math and deductive reasoning
- Strong letter writing skills
- Ability to multi-task and take direction
- Ability to motivate and train other team members
