Job Summary
Plan and execute archaeological projects across the Southeastern US, collaborating with senior management to ensure adherence to scope, timelines, and budgets while complying with Section 106 and federal guidelines. Coordinate with clients and stakeholders during field investigations, supervise field crews and laboratory staff, and utilize GPS equipment to document sites. Assist in preparing cultural resource management reports, conduct field surveys and excavations, and mentor junior staff in archaeological field methods. Maintain accurate records of project activities and findings, monitor progress to optimize efficiency, and travel frequently for fieldwork duties. This full-time role requires a Master's degree in Anthropology/Archaeology with three years of CRM experience and operates in both office and field environments.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree (M.A. or M.S.) or higher in Anthropology/Archaeology
- Minimum of three years of experience in cultural resource management (CRM)
- At least two years of supervisory experience
- Familiarity with historic preservation laws and regulations, particularly Section 106
- Strong background in archaeological field methods, laboratory analysis, and artifact cataloging
- Proficiency in using GPS equipment and related field technologies
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer
- Willingness to travel for fieldwork duties and project supervision
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to maintain attention to detail, demonstrate focus, and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods
