Assistant Project Manager - Engineering Technical Delivery

Job Summary
Assist in oversight of technical design for engineering plans, calculations, and reports, including performing a programmatic review of technical submittals to ensure product quality and conformance with applicable design criteria, directive letters, specifications, contract constraints, and applicable laws. Performs independent quality assurance and verification inspections of deliverables. Provides technical support for analysis and interpretation of documents across engineering, right-of-way, environmental services, rail operations, planning, and sustainability; supports Over the Shoulder review coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. Assists with coordination of feedback, documentation of meetings, filing in electronic repositories, and dissemination of information. Reviews draft changes to configuration documents related to engineering design, coordinates with internal stakeholders on configuration item changes, and identifies project risks with potential mitigation. Minimum qualifications emphasize a Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent) with substantial experience in high-speed rail, project management, and regulatory/compliance knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and experience
- Civil Engineering bachelor's degree or equivalent, and 15+ years of civil engineering experience including 5+ years of high-speed rail experience
- Ability to apply engineering judgment in design of high-speed rail projects
- Knowledge of various phases and functional responsibility of high-speed rail project development and delivery, federal and state contracting laws and regulations
- Experience in project management and managing multi-discipline teams to meet project milestones
- Attendance at in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
