Assistant Project Manager - Design and Construction

Job Summary
Manage various major and minor project and alteration services, including workspace alterations, deferred maintenance for roofs and HVAC, and complex construction commissioning. Act as a back-up to the Project Manager, conduct site inspections, and perform prebuilding assessments and quality control. Liaise with contractors and suppliers, analyze project costs and blueprints, and prepare budgets while ensuring compliance with building codes and safety standards. Develop process plans, optimize resource allocation, and report project progress to stakeholders. Work independently with occasional travel to sites outside the city.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering: Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, Industrial Engineering or related engineering disciplines, preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering design or construction
- Must be proficient in reviewing and commenting on Design Intent Drawings, As Built Drawings, and some cost estimating experience
- Experience with AutoCAD, SAP, and MS Office
- Knowledge of the building process and construction principles
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and building codes
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Project management skills
- Must be able to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
