Job Summary
Collaborate with engineers and architects to determine project specifications and negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements. Communicate daily with clients, establish project charts of accounts, and develop construction schedules while tracking job costs and processing change orders. Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, manage subcontractor bids, and oversee the project closeout process. Provide administrative support to leadership and training to project staff. Perform duties on-site in construction environments involving moving mechanical parts and variable weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
- Good knowledge of MS Office
- Familiarity with construction/ project management software (CMIC)
- Familiarity with scheduling software (P6)
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- A team player with leadership abilities
- Ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and navigate work areas under construction
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- BSc/BA in engineering, building science, construction management or relevant field (preferred)
- Federal Government Construction: 3 years (Preferred)
- Construction industry experience: 5 years (Preferred)
