Job Summary
Prepare submittal packages, participate in construction bidding, and create accurate estimates for specific scopes of work. Timely interpret design documents to resolve conflicts, errors, and omissions while monitoring field work for code compliance. Research and recommend solutions to design issues, then update as-built documents and manage RFI's and submittals through established systems. Coordinate project meetings with owners, architects, and engineers, and maintain clear document control. Perform detailed estimating and paperwork tasks for long durations, including walking large job sites. This role reports to the Executive Vice President at a multi-state general contractor specializing in commercial and industrial construction.
Required Qualifications
- Four year construction degree (Bachelor's Degree)
- Knowledge of construction codes
- Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others a must
- Efficient in construction software management tools (Timberline), or ability to learn
- Must be proficient in MS Office
- Ability to read plans required
- The ability focus and perform detailed estimating and paperwork task for long durations of time
- Sitting and standing in an office environment
- The ability to walk large job site and buildings at every phase of construction
