Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary

Conduct administrative support for project management by attending meetings, managing change orders, and tracking shop drawings and materials. Maintain the construction project filing system, process submittals, and assemble contract routing processes including change orders. Issue letters of intent for equipment and subcontractors, process construction permits, and create purchase orders. Develop and manage project plans, tracking logs, and risks while coordinating turnover meetings and assigning project numbers. Obtain insurance certificates and assist the Project Administrator. Requires 2–4 years of construction or project management experience, an associate's or bachelor's degree, and OSHA 10 certification. Works in both office and field environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 2–4 years of experience in construction, project management, or administrative support
  • Experience preferably in a mechanical, electrical, or specialty contracting environment
  • Superior organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to develop project plan, track progress, identify risks and actions
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Must possess the ability to multitask
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time

Desired Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 general industry or construction awareness
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified associate in project management (CAPM) through PMI
