Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary
Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment to support project completion while assisting Project Managers in overseeing work from start to finish. Submit Requests for Information (RFIs), manage project submittals, and maintain change-order and submittal registries. Perform preliminary scheduling using MS Project and Critical Path methods, then review plans, specifications, and material submittals. Monitor project conditions to submit Change Proposals and ensure proper documentation close-out and warranty handoffs. Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally, with availability for site-specific manufacturer training and compliance with OSHA regulations. This hybrid role supports diversified duties including manpower planning and contract management within the construction sector.
Required Qualifications
- Organizational, analysis, problem-solving, and cognitive abilities
- Computer, internet, and software knowledge and skills
- Communication skills via different means (phone, video conference, email, IM, etc.)
- Intermediate accounting, research, report development, and documentation skills
- Prioritization and multi-tasking between changing priorities
- Basic human resource management if personnel are supervised
- Basic knowledge of state/federal OSHA and other key regulations/compliance laws
- Basic purchasing, record keeping, and contract management knowledge
- Demonstrable knowledge of and skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Demonstrable knowledge of and skills in ProCore
- Demonstrable knowledge of and skills in Critical Path method
- Demonstrable knowledge of and skills in Cost Controls
- Demonstrable knowledge of and skills in Interpreting plans and specifications
- Basic knowledge of Scheduling Software—MS Project
- Basic knowledge of Manpower planning, interpersonal communication, and deployment (i.e., managing people)
- Basic knowledge of Construction principles, methods, and practice
- OSHA30 certification
- Be available to travel up to 25%, as necessary
- The employee must be able to obtain a passport and available to travel both domestically and internationally, when needed
- The employee must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally move up to 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
