Job Summary
Lead and implement one-on-one, small group, and large group activities according to the programming schedule while assisting the Activity Director in developing an engaging seven-day program. Demonstrate knowledge of residents' backgrounds, cognitive capacity, and interests to encourage participation, and communicate any changes in condition or behavior to the Harbor Care Director. Maintain confidentiality and stay with groups during all excursions. Requires training in recreational activities, Alzheimer's care, and dementia support.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma, bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- knowledge of aging and disability issues
- qualified by experience and training to develop programs appropriate for elders and disabled individuals
- training and knowledge in recreational activities
- training and knowledge of Alzheimer's and related dementias
- ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and the community
- consistent ability to coordinate multiple tasks
- positive attitude
- ability to work well under pressure
