Job Summary
Assistant Program Manager for the Calgary Alternative Residential Services (CARS) program in SE Calgary. Supports the Program Manager with program administration, implements services in line with policy and funder expectations, and monitors client documentation, HR tasks, and training/operations manuals. Leads day-to-day operations, provides supervision to the CARS team, and acts as program lead when the Manager is unavailable. Oversees DisInno-funded services, prepares budget templates and funding requests, reviews intake referrals, ensures services align with client needs, advocates for creative supports, encourages interdisciplinary collaboration, and contributes to quarterly narrative reporting. Facilitates team meetings, supports strategic planning, mentors staff, and maintains program documentation and compliance with agency policies. Requires strong leadership, communication, organizational skills, and experience in human services and Not-For-Profit environments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in the Human Services sector
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge in supporting adults with developmental disabilities preferred
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong verbal and written communications
- Ability to approach situations with positivity
- Ability to adapt communication styles
- Display patience and understanding
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Competency in report writing
- Expertise in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Experience working with Not-For-Profit organizations is an asset
- Required education: Degree or diploma in Disability Studies or Human Services related discipline, or satisfactory equivalent experience
