Job Summary
Assistant Program Manager for the Calgary Alternative Residential Services (CARS) program supports the Program Manager in day-to-day operations, ensuring effective administration and implementation of services, overseeing client documentation, HR tasks, and training/operations manuals, supervising the CARS team (including CSCs and Relief Supervisor), and acting as designate when the Program Manager is unavailable. Responsibilities include reviewing intake referrals, preparing budget templates and funding requests, aligning services with client needs, advocating for appropriate supports, coordinating interdisciplinary efforts, overseeing DisInno-funded services and quarterly narrative reporting, ensuring adherence to agency policies, mentoring staff, participating in team meetings and strategic planning, and maintaining program documentation and communications with stakeholders. Qualifications emphasize extensive human services experience, supervisory background, disability supports knowledge, strong leadership, communication, organization, confidentiality, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; degree or diploma in Disability Studies or Human Services or equivalent experience required.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Disability Studies or Human Services related discipline, or satisfactory equivalent experience
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in the Human Services sector
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge in supporting adults with developmental disabilities preferred
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong verbal and written communications
- Ability to approach situations with positivity
- Ability to adapt communication styles
- Display patience and understanding
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Competency in report writing
- Expertise in Microsoft Office software, including; Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Experience working with Not-For-Profit organizations is an asset
