Job Summary

The READS Collaborative Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program seeks an Assistant Program Director to support the Program Director in supervising the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Program and School, ensuring compliance with MA DESE regulations and high-quality, student-centered services for PreK–12+. Responsibilities include overseeing policy implementation, supervising faculty, leading staff meetings and training, assisting with referrals, facilitating IEP timelines and implementation, liaising with building principals, observing staff, managing public relations, coordinating MCAS/assessments, planning professional development and a Summer Program, and contributing to program design and research-informed practice. Location: Norton, MA with a satellite program in Taunton, MA. Terms: 205 work days; rate of pay: 90–115K; non-bargaining unit.

Required Qualifications

  • DESE License Teacher of the Deaf, Special Education Administrator, or related field
  • Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
  • Fluent in American Sign Language
  • Knowledge of general child development and language development as specifically related to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in education, especially as it relates to Deaf education
  • Experience with Individual Education Program (IEP) development
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
