Job Summary
Supervise site staff to ensure quality instruction and implement ChanceLight policies while assisting the school director with educational, administrative, and counseling activities. Manage personnel development, safety, and crisis operations by developing performance plans, monitoring employee effectiveness, and coaching staff growth. Provide direct guidance to teachers on scheduling, data systems, and student transition plans, while consulting on social and conflict resolution skills. Represent the organization at community and district levels, maintain compliance with state and contract requirements, and oversee facility and technology functions. Compile assessment data to guide instruction and participate in accreditation processes to ensure site performance.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in special education, educational leadership or a closely related field of study
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining one or more of the following OH state special education instruction credentials: Intervention Specialist - Mild/Moderate Educational Needs (K-12), Intervention Specialist - Moderate/Intensive Educational Needs (K-12), Primary Intervention Specialist (PK-5)
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training
- Prior experience and highly knowledgeable in the development, assessment, and management of curriculum, content areas and instruction; preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting
- Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional behavioral disorders and/or other related disabilities
- Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals
- Effective management skills and comprehensive knowledge of administrative and school operations, functions, and compliance requirements
- Prior experience and highly skilled in providing training, professional development and/or coaching to teachers and education staff
- Highly skilled in building relationships with students, parents, teachers and community and/or business partners
- Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions
- Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability
- Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an educational leadership, administration, principal or related credential preferred
