Job Summary
This tenure track position at Prairie View A&M University involves coordinating the implementation of nursing programs, developing learning activities, and utilizing innovative teaching methodologies in both classroom and clinical settings. Responsibilities include academic advising, conducting research, leading curriculum development, and participating in committees. A Master’s degree and a PhD in nursing or a related field are required, alongside current RN licensure in Texas. Candidates should have strong communication skills and a commitment to collaboration within the academic community.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nursing - Family Nurse Practitioner
- PhD or doctorate equivalent in an area of specialization
- Current licensure or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Texas
- Appropriate national certification in specialty area, if an advanced practice nurse
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in classroom education/teaching and/or clinical nursing education
- Demonstrated past performance in the scholarship of nursing including research
- Experience in providing didactic education content at the doctoral level
- Commitment to working with students and colleagues across the campus community
