Assistant Professor - Sport Management

Job Summary

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in sport management, including financial management, sport law, and governance, while shaping curriculum to leverage the College's unique industry relationships. Conduct progressive scholarly and practical research, advise students, and provide service to the University, College, sport industry, and community. Create experiential opportunities and internships for students with sport organizations. Hold a doctoral degree in an applicable discipline and demonstrate strong teaching skills in both in-person and online instruction. Begin no later than August 2027.

Required Qualifications

  • strong teaching skills, both in person and through online instruction
  • progressive research agenda
  • at least one undergraduate or graduate degree in sport management or business
  • doctoral degree in an applicable discipline from accredited institutions

Desired Qualifications

  • ability and expertise to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate level in two or more of these areas: financial management, sport law, and governance
  • some breadth in their teaching expertise
  • sport industry work experience
  • evidence of collaboration with sport organizations
  • ability to create experiential opportunities and internships for students with sport organizations
  • strong record of industry experience and outreach
