Assistant Professor of Studio Art - Design

Job Summary
Teach introductory courses in Graphic Design and build a comprehensive design curriculum, including topics within your area of specialty. Contribute to core classes such as Guided Studio and the senior capstone sequence in Studio Art, and instruct courses cross-listed in the Digital Arts & Media program. Supervise community internships and independent research while maintaining a recognized creative practice. Serve on university committees, assist in divisional recruiting, and provide academic advising. This tenure-track position begins August 25, 2027, with a teaching load of three courses per term plus one short-term course in May.
Required Qualifications
- MFA in studio art, design, or a related field
- Commitment to teaching
- Value interdisciplinary dialogue
- Work collaboratively with other faculty
- Expertise in Design, including but not limited to design theory, graphic design, product design, and/or digital design (UI/UX)
- Maintain a recognized creative practice
- Service to the university through various committee appointments, divisional recruiting, and academic advising
Desired Qualifications
- All relevant design experience, both professional and academic
- Applicants with an art practice that extends beyond design and includes digital and/or print media
