Job Summary

Teach the equivalent of 18 course credits per academic year in sociology research methods, statistics, and specialty areas. Develop a research program resulting in tangible products such as articles, books, and grants. Provide service at the program, department, college, university, community, and profession levels while mentoring students in undergraduate research opportunities. Integrate research into teaching and contribute to Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs). Join a collaborative department committed to expanding undergraduate research and strengthening quantitative training.

  • A Ph.D. in sociology
  • Outstanding research potential

  • Prior teaching experience in a university setting
  • Ability to complete tasks and work cooperatively with others
  • Strong self-discipline and ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students
  • Ability to interact with students from a range backgrounds

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience teaching and mentoring students at Hispanic-Serving Institutions
  • working with majority-Latinx student populations
  • Ability to connect sociological knowledge and research skills to workforce preparation, career readiness, and students' professional goals
