Job Summary

Teach undergraduate sociology courses, contribute to curriculum development, and engage in academic service to the College. Deliver instruction with a commitment to inclusive pedagogy and diverse learning strategies while advising students on academic and professional development. Maintain a robust research agenda in a specialized area of sociology, such as social inequality or race and ethnicity, to support departmental needs. This full-time appointment in the Department of Social Sciences offers the possibility of renewal based on departmental needs and funding.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Sociology or a closely related field
  • demonstrated record of effective teaching at the undergraduate level
  • Experience in sociological research
  • clear area of specialization
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and teach undergraduate courses in sociology and related areas
  • Demonstrated ability to engage students in and outside of the classroom
