Assistant Professor of Sociology

Talladega College invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Sociology to teach undergraduate sociology courses, contribute to curriculum development, advise students, supervise undergraduate research, and participate in service to the college. The candidate should hold a Ph.D. in Sociology (or closely related field; ABD near completion considered), have a record of effective undergraduate teaching, possess a research agenda with a specialized area, and demonstrate a commitment to inclusive pedagogy and supporting diverse learners. Responsibilities include teaching core and specialized sociology courses (e.g., Introduction to Sociology, Sociological Theory, Social Problems), developing syllabi and assessments, advising students, mentoring undergraduate research, maintaining an active research agenda, and contributing to program assessment and community engagement. Online or hybrid teaching experience is a plus, and there is an emphasis on diversity, equity, inclusion, and service learning.
