Job Summary
Assistant Professor of Nursing at Chaminade University of Honolulu is responsible for teaching both undergraduate and graduate nursing courses, contributing to curriculum development and assessment, advising students, participating in university and program committees and accreditation processes, pursuing scholarship and professional development, and staying current with industry practices and technology. The position requires Ph.D. in Nursing or related field, Hawaii RN licensure, and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with a focus on delivering high-quality education to a diverse student body. The role is full-time and exempt, with typical 40-hour weeks and potential for additional hours, including some evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. from a regionally accredited institution in Nursing or a related field is required.
- RN licensure in the State of Hawaii.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Nursing or a relevant field.
- Proficient in the use of technology to support both in class and online learning environments
- Experience working with culturally and ethnically diverse students
- Must have the ability to create and facilitate a meaningful learning environment and demonstrate a willingness to teach a variety of nursing courses in a diverse educational setting
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, learning management systems (e.g. Canvas), and other programs related to teaching, learning, advising, and assessment
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Dedication to providing high-quality education to students
- Familiarity with educational technology and ability to use it to enhance student learning
- Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources
- High integrity and ethical standards
