Assistant Professor of Instruction & Program Director of Instructional Design and Development

Job Summary
Lead and develop Xavier University’s online MS in Instructional Design and Development and Graduate Certificate in eLearning Design and Development; teach a course load of up to 18 graduate credit hours per year; oversee curriculum development and continuous program improvement; engage in student recruitment, application review, and admissions decisions; advise and mentor graduate students including capstone supervision; collaborate with faculty and external partners to support online learning initiatives; participate in departmental, college, and university meetings and committees; support program assessment and Ohio Department of Higher Education reporting; build relationships with industry partners to support experiential learning; maintain an on-campus presence working with the Director of the School of Education and Dean; 9-month teaching position with potential for summer teaching opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Learning Design, Learning Sciences, Educational Technology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the time of appointment
- Minimum of two years of college- or university-level teaching experience
- Professional experience in instructional design, digital learning, or related fields
- Experience designing and teaching online and/or hybrid courses
- Demonstrated ability to design engaging and effective online learning experiences for adult learners using evidence-based instructional strategies
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative leadership skills
