Job Summary

Develop inspiring literature and culture courses for undergraduates in a liberal arts environment, with a chronological focus open to transnational and transhistorical perspectives on the Mediterranean world or Francophone diasporas. Engage in innovative methodologies and work across disciplines while demonstrating active research, teaching excellence, and fluency in French and English. Successfully teach French language and literature/culture courses at all levels, including the translation seminar as a plus, and contribute to the departmental curriculum and multidisciplinary programs on campus. The role includes the possibility of directing the Vassar Wesleyan Program in Paris. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. at the time of appointment.
