Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in ESL,TESL/TESOL
  • Four (4) years college teaching experience (96+ credits).
  • Proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students.
  • Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams etc.).

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience teaching ESL courses.
  • Experience in curriculum development, program assessment, and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of current TESOL and foreign language instructional methods, trends, and best practices.
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, supervising, and evaluating ESOL and foreign language adjunct faculty.
  • Experience in student services, including registration, placement testing, counseling, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience in student recruitment and outreach through marketing, community engagement, and communication with prospective students and partners.
  • Experience building partnerships with schools, community groups, and organizations relevant to the program.
  • Bi-lingual
  • Experience using technology to enhance the learning environment, e.g., Blackboard, online instruction or other modalities/software.

Additional Requirements

  • CT State CC is currently unable to sponsor work visas. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
