Job Summary
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security across face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats while contributing to curriculum development and assessment. Maintain an active research agenda and advise and mentor students at both levels. Participate in departmental, college, university, and professional service activities. This tenure-track position begins Fall 2027 at Texas A&M University-Central Texas, a Hispanic-Serving Institution serving primarily adult, military-affiliated, and first-generation students in the Central Texas region.
Required Qualifications
- Earned Ph.D. by the time of appointment in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Homeland Security, Security Studies, Emergency Management, or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrated preparation to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Criminal Justice
- Ability to contribute to graduate instruction in Homeland Security
- Evidence of scholarly productivity or a developing research agenda
- Commitment to high-quality teaching and student success
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to teach multiple areas of the Criminal Justice curriculum
- Expertise in homeland security, intelligence, emergency management, policing, corrections, courts, criminology, cybercrime, terrorism, public safety, or related fields
- Experience teaching graduate students
- Experience with online, hybrid, or technology-enhanced instruction
- Demonstrated effectiveness in innovative or engaged teaching
- Experience working with adult, military-connected, first-generation, transfer, or other diverse student populations
