Job Summary
Provide high-quality, family-centered inpatient care for healthy newborns in the Mother-Baby Units, educating and counseling families on care, anticipatory guidance, and discharge planning. Identify newborns requiring escalation of care and coordinate transfers to the NICU when indicated. Ensure safe transitions through timely communication of discharge summaries to community pediatricians. Deliver evidence-based care and contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical practice guidelines and newborn care pathways. Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical operations initiatives. Teach and mentor pediatric residents and medical students through bedside teaching and formal educational activities. Engage in scholarly activities consistent with academic interests. Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams to enhance care delivery. Full-time faculty appointment with a structured 7-on/7-off clinical schedule.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
- Eligibility for unrestricted Florida medical licensure
- Eligibility for academic faculty appointment at the University of Miami
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or eligibility to obtain prior to employment
