Job Summary
Conduct undergraduate instruction in biochemistry, general chemistry, and potentially organic chemistry, including associated laboratory sessions. Develop a productive research program involving undergraduate students across open research areas while fostering collaborations with neighboring institutions such as LLUMC and UC-Irvine. Mentor students with diverse educational and socioeconomic backgrounds, integrating experiential learning into teaching and advising. Travel to various locations for meetings and conduct work in a standard office environment with flexibility for evening and weekend hours.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. (or near completion of degree) in chemistry or biochemistry
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Strong dedication to teaching and mentoring incoming students with diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours
- Ability to travel, as required
- Valid driver's license
- Enrollment in the DMV Government Employer Pull Notice Program
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
