Job Summary
Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology responsible for teaching undergraduate Biology courses including Anatomy & Physiology I & II and related subjects, in-person with possible hybrid/online modalities. Duties include preparing lab materials, monitoring lab safety, managing biohazardous materials, guiding and supervising undergraduates, providing leadership in the undergraduate programs, pursuing an active research agenda with undergraduate mentoring, participating in faculty committees and university activities, aiding in student recruitment, and occasional travel to conferences; reports to the DNS Chair/Dean as requested.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Biology or a related discipline by appointment start date
- undergraduate teaching and mentoring experience with a track record of instructional effectiveness
- proven record of scholarly activity
- demonstrated commitment to community outreach and engagement
- commitment to diversity and inclusion demonstrated through pedagogy, research, and/or public engagement
- excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- track record demonstrating exceptional organization, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal relations
