Job Summary
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University seeks a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Aviation and Aerospace Safety. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in topics such as human factors in aviation, aviation Safety Management Systems, aircraft accident investigations, and operational safety audits. Responsibilities include developing course materials, student mentorship, curriculum evaluation, and participation in recruiting events. Required qualifications include a PhD or M.S. in Aviation Safety or a related field, strong knowledge of flight operations, and prior experience managing SMS safety programs.
Required Qualifications
- PhD (preferred) or M.S. (required) in Aviation Safety, or a closely related discipline
- Strong knowledge of flight operations and aviation safety
- Prior professional experience in managing SMS safety programs
- Demonstrated or potential excellence in teaching, service, and mentoring undergraduate students
Desired Qualifications
- Professional certifications, such as ASI or ATP are desired
- Strong data analysis skills preferred
