Job Summary
Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Music Education responsible for undergraduate instruction in music education methods, pedagogy, and curriculum development; conducts theoretical and practical instruction to prepare future music educators for diverse P-12 environments; requires strong background in music pedagogy, performance, and curriculum development; preferred experience in K-12 program leadership, active research agenda in music education, and familiarity with technology in music instruction.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Music Education or related field or Doctoral degree; ABD considered but PhD required before appointment
- Credentials approved by the Alabama Department of Education
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate music education methods and pedagogy
- Experience in K-12 music programs preferred
- Strong performance and musical scholarship
- Curriculum development, program assessment, or leadership experience is a plus
