Job Summary
Develop and deliver undergraduate courses in manufacturing engineering technology while utilizing innovative teaching methods to engage students. Conduct original research, publish findings in reputable journals, and actively seek external funding to support initiatives. Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, including supervision of research projects, internships, and capstone design teams. Participate in departmental and university committees, collaborate with industry partners on interdisciplinary projects, and promote diversity and inclusion within the academic environment. Stay current with field advancements through conferences and professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated potential for effective teaching at the undergraduate level
- Experience in developing and delivering courses in manufacturing engineering or related disciplines
- Strong potential for scholarly research in manufacturing engineering technology
- Evidence of or potential for publishing research findings in reputable journals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to convey complex engineering concepts in a clear and accessible manner
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Department of Manufacturing Engineering Technology and across disciplines
- Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary research projects
- Proficiency in using relevant software and technologies related to manufacturing engineering technology
- Familiarity with tools used in both research and teaching environments
- Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment
- Awareness of and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student body
- Ability to seek external funding through grant writing to support research initiatives
- Experience or potential for securing research funding
