Job Summary
The University of Guelph seeks an Assistant Professor in Child Studies for a tenure-track position. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, participating in curriculum development, and leading a research program focused on children, alongside mentoring students. Applicants must hold a PhD (or ABD) in relevant fields and possess early years experience. Required Qualifications
- Completed PhD (or ABD) in education, child development, psychology, social work, sociology, or other family-related/human development-related field
- Applied work experience in early years settings (ages 0-6 years)
- Strong record of research with professional or post-graduate experience
Desired Qualifications
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) eligibility
- Demonstrated strengths in teaching, advising, and/or mentorship at the undergraduate/graduate level
- Commitment to accessible and inclusive teaching
- Clearly articulated independent research plan related to children
- Strong record of advancing Indigenization, equity, diversity, and inclusion
