Job Summary
Prepare Fire Science syllabi, grade assignments, and manage course shells in Canvas while instructing assigned classes and laboratories. Develop retention strategies, maintain office hours, and collaborate on departmental projects, research, and committee work. Adhere to professional standards and ethics within the Public Service Education team.
Required Qualifications
- Master of Science in Fire Science or a related field
- Ability to teach a minimum of 36 semester hours annually
- Certification as a Florida Firefighter or eligibility for certification
- Minimum of ten (10) years of proven work experience as a firefighter
- Level III Fire Service Instructor, State of Florida Bureau of Fire Standards and Training, or eligibility for certification
- Willingness to apply technology and innovative approaches to the teaching of Fire Science
