Job Summary
Coordinate student clinical rotations, supervise hands-on learning, and manage clinical site partnerships for the Surgical Technology and Central Services programs. Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and curriculum requirements while providing student advising and credential preparation support. Plan didactic and lab instruction covering a minimum of 36 semester hours annually, evaluate clinical performance, and collaborate with the Program Director on budget and program development. Maintain student records, assist with recruitment, and participate in accreditation activities to drive student success and retention.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in any field
- Must be a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
- hold a current NCCA-accredited surgical technology credential
- have at least three (3) years of recent clinical or instructional experience in the field
- Minimum of three (3) years of documented experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years
- Certificate or degree in Surgical Technology or Surgical Services from a regionally accredited college/university recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP)
- Current credential in surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA), i. e. CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NNCT)
- All instructors must meet the appropriate credentialing requirements by accrediting agencies
- an ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds
- manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary
