Job Summary
Pursue an active writing and publication agenda while developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Creative Writing, English, and related fields. Lead graduate thesis work, serve on the MFA admissions committee, and participate in event programming and curricular development. Engage in departmental service, including exploring remote completion options for the BA and low-residency models for the MFA. This tenure-stream position begins August 24, 2027, with a typical teaching load of five courses per academic year. The role supports a nationally recognized MFA program within the University of Wyoming's College of Arts and Sciences.
Required Qualifications
- terminal degree (MFA or PhD)
- work primarily in creative non-fiction
- Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP
- available to work on campus
Desired Qualifications
- secondary expertise in one or more of the following areas: environmental writing, magazine writing, hybrid forms, fiction, poetry, and the public humanities
- A record of publication beyond the minimum qualifications stated above
- Evidence of work or potential work with graduate students
- Experience with program development, public humanities programming, or related kinds of work
- published a minimum of one book or show significant demonstrable progress toward a book
